SO far we have: Kaye getting iSting website up and running
Madison doing an environmental article.
We need Box Wars Coverage: We'd like up to 3 dif people on this so that we can get 3 diff points of view. 1) The teacher's view (the purpose of the event) 2) The participants' view 3) The spectator's view, a review of the event once it's finished.
Students from the anime club were invited to submit material
Kaye is willing to do a football article
Other suggestions?
I would be interested in covering part of the Box Wars article.
ReplyDelete:)
As for other suggestions, I think that it would be neat to send an invitation to art students to submit sketches or other art work. We could scan it to the computer and it would be able to appear in full colour.
Also, I know that the Santa Clause parade is usually sometime in November, so I'm not sure if it would better fit the second November issue, but since two of our own Stamford students are building the float this year, that could be a really good article opportunity. I would really like to cover that if at all possible. We could have multiple people on that article too if there is more interest (the builder's point of view, and a spectator's point of view).
Oh, also I noticed that this year we seem to be having a specific character trait assigned to each month? Maybe we could feature an article about an outstanding display of the month's trait? Nominated by teachers? It might be tough for teachers to choose just one student/event to celebrate, and also the student might not want that attention focused on them.
Let me know what you guys think of these ideas! :)
For box wars, if possible, I would like to cover the teacher's point of view if nobody else wishes to do so.
ReplyDelete:) I'll be posting football article by the end of the weekend
Madison : really good ideas
;)
For the iSting website, I have no idea how to put it in individual pages (not all the articles are up yet)... We can work on the next one so that I know for future issues
Wow... we're getting more and more happening all the time.
ReplyDeleteUh, so, ok, Madison. I like all your ideas and I think you should run with them all, if it's possible to do that without driving yourself crazy? I suggested earlier that we should be publishing a calendar of what each trait-of-the-month is. I was told Ms. Merante might be the best person to talk to about that.
Kaye, maybe you can show me what you've done so far or at least how to access the iSting page and then I can help out. What I think we can do is to upload .pdf versions of iSting to googledocs and then make a button on the iSting page that will link to it... Does that make sense? Does weebly not offer any file hosting?
**Please, I don't want any of you to get burned out (that's my job :) ) If you are struggling with something, don't be afraid to ask for help. We'll find someone else to step in.
Kaye: That sounds good :). I could write the spectator's point of view.
ReplyDeleteMr. P: I really enjoy writing these articles, so it doesn't add any extra stress or anything. Quite the opposite actually :) But I will for sure let you know if it gets to be too much.
Looks like Alex M is doing the teacher's point of view for Box Wars, so he told me tolday. I'm working on football and such so for the moment I am going to step back out of Box Wars unless I'm needed. :) thanks
ReplyDeletePS. I don't know what file hosting is
@Madison I would be interested in writing about perseverance. It's actually one of my "life" words if you know what I mean. (Until recently it was painted on my wall in my room.) unless of course you wish to complete the article then by all means, go for it. If not, let me know what your vision is for the article and what stuff you would like to have included. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteKaye: I'm so sorry, I didn't see this comment until today! I think that's the only flaw in this blog site, is that there is no way to know when comments are posted without looking through each post individually.
ReplyDeleteOf course, that would be perfectly fine! I hope it's not too late!
